children’s day gifts

Significance

We celebrate this day to increase awareness of children’s rights and education. It also the birthday of the first president of India Jawaharlal Nehru popularly known as ‘Chacha Nehru’ by all children. Most of you may wonder why is it called children’s day? That’s because he loved children so, his birthday is dedicated to us kids.
On this day, schools and colleges organize various programs like plays, competitions, cultural events etc. Sweets, books, stationery and other gifts are distributed to children in many schools. November 20 is celebrated as the Universal Children’s Day, as declared by the United Nations.
This is one of the day’s children have fun with their peer mates in their schools. One more thing you want to get a child a gift but you want it to be very personalized then it’s your lucky day. I am here with some simple and cute school supply gift ideas.

Ideas

Quill pencils: This is very easy but gorgeous and fun pencil which is sure to motivate kids to study. All you need is a pencil with an eraser back, quills(features) of your choice, A glue gun or super glue and some pliers.

To start with, take your pencil, remove the eraser using a pliers or your hands. Now use your glue(hot glue gun is recommended)squeeze some on the eraser surface on the pencil and the end tip of the quill. Use as many quills you desire.

Kawaii books: They are simple to make. You need your picture, some clear tape, some colour tape and your book.

Take your picture. It can be a sketch you drew or a print.

Place it on your book and cover it like you normally do.

If you used an A4 size sheet overlap the first with another one and cover the overlap with coloured tape.

This is your final look. You can add another picture at the back or just leave it blank.

So try it out and let me know if it helped you in the comments below.

YIN AND YANG

I made this piece of craft with quilling paper. This is known as Yin and Yang , a Chinese symbol originated in 3rd century B.C(or even before), which has its roots in Taoism. YIN is the black side with a white dot and YANG is the white side with a black dot in it .In Chinese philosophy , it has many meanings ,one of which is the concept of balancing bad and good .YIN is the dark/bad side and YANG is the bright/good side. This symbol simply shows us the balance of bad and good in everything ,i.e, bad always has good in it and good always has bad in it ,and they are dependent on each other(two sides of the same coin). In YIN lies YANG and in YANG lies YIN. This symbol altogether represents life.

WASTE TO BEST USE

This box was originally a keychain holder, later I thought of making something creative out of it . What I did was:

STEP 1: I first took a sheet of Thermocol and cut it into the shape of the keychain.

STEP 2: I painted the inner part of the box with glitter glue so that it looks more contrasting.

STEP 3: Later I stuck craft paper on both side of the thermocol shape I cut out and used sketch pens to outline the shape into to kinds of dolls, the first one being a Japanese version(in the picture) and the second one as an Indian version .

STEP 4: Lastly to secure all this in place I stuck clear tape on both the sides and cut out the excess.

And that is how I converted something boring into something more creative and decorative ,which all of you can try especially while getting bored.

&

A balloon

Here’s how you do it

Fill the balloon with some water.

IMG_3815

Don’t fill it up too much.IMG_3819

Fasten the mouth of the balloon with a rubber band very carefully.

Β  You don’t want the water to spill out.

Your squishy bubble ball is ready to play!IMG_3813

It’s so much better than a water balloon, because it does not burst when you throw. It is super awesome! Try it right now!
